Our subconscious mind is a powerful tool that plays a significant role in shaping our behavior and habits. It’s responsible for our automatic responses, feelings, and thoughts that we may not even know. Often, we may find ourselves setting goals but not achieving them, despite putting in the effort. This is because our subconscious may not be aligned with our conscious goals.
To reprogram our subconscious, we need to be specific with our plans
When we set specific goals, we give our subconscious a clear picture of what we want to achieve, making it easier to work towards that goal.
Let’s say you want to improve your physical fitness. Unfortunately, setting a vague goal like “I want to get in shape” is not specific enough. Your subconscious will not know what exactly “getting in shape” means.
Instead, be clear with your goals, like “I want to lose 10 pounds in the next three months” or “I want to be able to run a 5k in under 30 minutes in six months.” These specific goals give your subconscious mind a clear idea of what you want to achieve and help it achieve that goal.
When setting specific objectives, breaking them down into smaller, achievable steps is essential
This approach makes the goal less daunting and easier to accomplish, and each success builds upon the previous one, increasing momentum toward the larger goal.
Another aspect to consider when setting specific goals is to focus on the present moment. Rather than saying “I will be” or “I want to be,” say “I am” or “I have.”
This shift in language sends a message to your subconscious that your goal is already achieved, making it easier for your mind to align with that reality.
Reprogramming your subconscious mind takes time and effort, but being specific with your goals can make a significant difference in achieving them
The more specific your objectives are, the easier it is for your subconscious to work toward them. Remember to break down your goals into smaller, achievable steps and focus on the present moment to make your dream a reality.
