My client recently shared an amazing story on social media and kindly allowed us to share it with all of you. It’s a message of hope for any moms out there facing fertility challenges.
Journey to Our Happy Ending
I’ve waited a very long time to share my journey. I documented the ups and downs, hoping to one day share a happy ending. As I’ve become more open, I’ve learned so many women can relate to my fertility struggle. The advice I’m here to share is don’t ever ask someone if they plan to have kids or give advice on how they should get pregnant because you never know what they are going through behind closed doors. Only offer advice if asked. I say this because I have heard it ALL. I know it was all in good faith and love, but it was hard to joke about after a while.
The Beginning of My Journey
My journey began in California when Parker was about three years old. Initially, getting pregnant with Parker was all natural. As time went by, the age gap of Parker and his future sibling was getting bigger, and Darryl & I weren’t getting any younger. We were diagnosed with unknown infertility, which was frustrating because we really wanted answers. I did Clomid, IUI, and then moved on to IVF when I moved to Texas. On my first egg retrieval, I had very good news and ended up with eight boy and six girl embryos.
Sadly, some people only end up with one or none. I was very fortunate in that moment. My first implantation was not successful. The second time, I had two embryos implanted to increase my chances. I ended up successfully pregnant with one embryo.
Bumps on the Road
We were approaching Thanksgiving, and at my doctor’s appointment at nine weeks pregnant, they told me my pregnancy had stopped progressing, and I would likely miscarry within a week. I balled my eyes out and drank a lot of wine at Thanksgiving. The doctors asked if I wanted to take a break, and I said I would keep going until I had my miracle baby.
The third time, I also had two embryos implanted while running the risk of twins. I prayed for God’s will, and by his grace, my prayers were answered. That is how Amira came to us.
A Miraculous Ending
I look at my kids now and feel that this is exactly how it was all meant to play out. Parker is the BEST older brother, and I don’t take any moment or milestone for granted. I hope my story is comforting and gives hope and strength to my friends, family, and women all over to never lose faith.
What is meant to be will be.
