We live in such an amazing time for sharing creative ideas; whether it’s photography on instagram, music on Spotify, or personal writing on blogs. But the resource I frequent the most? Pinterest! When I was first starting out as a photographer, I took so much inspiration from Pinterest; from lighting, to poses, to props… you name it! So it makes sense that Pinterest remains one of the constants in my client process.

If you’ve never had a session with me before, here’s how it goes down: one month before the photoshoot date, we meet on zoom to have a custom design and wardrobe consultation. During the session, we’ll pull inspiration from magazines and different Pinterest pins to create a vision board . This brainstorming session is important for two reasons. Firstly, because it’s vital to have a plan before going into a shoot. But secondly, because it’s important we choose poses that are flattering to the your body type and shows off your inner-most beauty. (And if we’re doing a boudoir shoot, we can create a secret board for that!)

So where might you start? Here are my top 6 favorite Pinterest boards to grab inspiration from.

 

1.) Posing Guides

2.) Maternity

 

If you’re still stuck in the limiting belief that you can’t look sexy and fierce in the third trimester of your pregnancy, I have the perfect Pinterest board for you! This Maternity board is FULL of incredible ways to show off that life-carrying body of yours.

 

3.) Couples 

 

Showing off your love can feel vulnerable, especially in front of a camera. But having some posing ideas from this Couples board makes it a whole lot easier.
