My name is Linda Nichols, and I am 60 years old. Over the years, I have been an educator, a ministry leader, and now I lead Prayer For Husbands, a monthly call for wives to pray for their marriages and families. I also serve as Chaplain for an electronic parliamentarian unit. Every path I’ve walked has been rooted in one purpose: helping others live with hope and courage.
I know what it means to fight for that hope. I am a two-time cancer survivor. I was first diagnosed in 2017, and my journey since then has been a testament to God’s grace and the power of faith. Through it all, I’ve learned to see life as a gift, even in the most uncertain moments.
Choosing Faith Over Fear
When you receive a diagnosis like cancer, it changes everything. Suddenly, time feels fragile, and each day takes on new meaning. There were moments of fear and exhaustion, but I refused to let those define me.
My greatest piece of advice for any woman walking this road is this: be your own best advocate. Choose doctors who are not only experts in their field but who truly care about you as a person. Surround yourself with people who will walk beside you through the journey. And most importantly, remember that you are stronger than you think.
Faith and hope have carried me through more than I ever imagined. I have seen God’s love show up in ways that remind me I am never alone, even when the path feels uncertain.
Why I Chose the Giveback Photoshoot
When I heard about the Breast Cancer Patient Giveback photoshoot with Felicia Reed Photography and the Breast Cancer Resource Center, I knew I wanted to take part.
Photos have always been important to me because they capture the essence of who we are in a given moment. As a two-time survivor, I wanted my sons to have images that reflect my strength, joy, and love of life. I wanted them to see that even in hard seasons, their mother faced challenges with faith and courage.
More than anything, I hoped these photos would inspire others to hold on to hope and embrace life fully.
A Joyful Experience
Working with Felicia was a joy and a blessing. From the moment I arrived, she made me feel pampered, celebrated, and truly seen. Her energy reminded me that even as survivors, we have endless ways to give back and shine a light for others.
When I saw my photos, I was deeply moved. They helped me see a side of myself I had forgotten: strong, radiant, and full of life. Felicia captured not just my face, but my faith, my joy, and the woman I have become.
Her work reminded me that I am so much more than my diagnosis. I am renewed.
Finding Blessings in Every Season
If you are facing adversity right now, I want you to know that hope is still within reach. Look for the blessings, even in the storms. There is always something to learn, something to be grateful for, and someone who can be inspired by your story.
Every day is a chance to start again with faith, courage, and love.
Support the Breast Cancer Resource Center
The Breast Cancer Resource Center has been a source of support and strength for so many women, including me. They help women find community, confidence, and care during one of the most difficult seasons of life.
If my story touched your heart, I invite you to give back by supporting this incredible organization. Your generosity can help another woman find her strength and remember that she, too, is renewed.
