Happy February from Felicia Reed Photography! We know that Valentine’s Day is a unique holiday; it holds a lot of excitement, passion, (and even baggage) for so many different people. But we also know that cultivating healthy relationships is important every day of the year, not just the 14th!
Here are 5 ways you can do just that.
1.) Plan a movie marathon.
Each of of you can pick a movie, heat up some popcorn, and put those phones AWAY! Before you know it, you’ll be snuggling up to some very much-needed quality time.
2.) Revisit a significant location in the history of your relationship.
Where did you first meet? Have your first date? Share your first kiss? Get engaged? Go revisit those spots! Memories built on locations and specific times in your life are a gift. It’s time to re-awaken them.
3.) Write a letter to your partner about how you’re looking forward to growing old together.
How often do we write letters anymore? Uhhh, literally never! No matter how old you are currently, this is a fun idea for a surprise. Leave it on their nightstand, in their car, or by their keys. And when they find it, you could even save it to put in a keepsake box!
4.) Hug your partner for 1 minute without letting go.
We often underestimate the power of a hug! Did you know that hugs scientifically reduce stress and increase oxytocin (the cuddle hormone)? So not only is it great for building closeness with your S.O., but can make you healthier too!
5.) If the person in your life was a flavor, create a meaningful meal that will tantalize what that person means to you.
This one’s such a fun one. If your partner was a meal, are they sweet or savory? Cinnamon-y or garlic-y? Steak or apple pie? Not only does this exercise promote romance and creativity, but it’s also tasty too!
So, no matter how you plan on celebrating your loved ones this month (and the rest of the year), we hope this list was fun and helpful! If you’d like to hear more ideas like this one and join our 21 Day Love Challenge, you can do so here.
